DOCUMENTARIES & BIOGRAPHIES
Ankit Arora has directed people from all walks of life, from icons like A R Rahman and Saurav Ganguly to business leaders like Pawan Munjal, MDs and CEOs of major companies, senior government officials, as well as villagers, the middle class, and everyday individuals across India and globally.
Regardless of background, status or language, everyone finds ease in front of his lens. His strength lies in drawing out honest and heartfelt narratives, told in their truest essence as though touching the hearts of the viewer directly.
He believes every person carries a story worth listening to. And while not everyone is a natural storyteller, Ankit creates the space and trust they need to share their journey in the most authentic and impactful way.

KALPANA CHAWLA
Mega Icons - National Geographic
Director | Creative Director
From conceptualising the emotional arc, beginning with a young girl flying a paper plane, intercut with Kalpana’s rocket launch to ending the film with her becoming a “citizen of the galaxy,” Ankit shaped the film as a moving human story of a child's ambitious dream coming true. Told primarily through the voice of her father, it traced the extraordinary journey of a small town girl who quite literally reached for the stars.
A R RAHMAN
Mega Icons - National Geographic
Director | Creative Director
This was not just the story of a musical genius, but of a quiet and underconfident boy who lost his father early and went on to reshape the soundscape of an entire generation. From Dilip Kumar to Allah Rakha Rahman, to transforming the way the industry functioned by crediting every accompanying musician, the film explored the evolution of a man devoted entirely to music. A man who was never limited by instruments, but reimagined them. The documentary brought out not just his humility and brilliance, but also the beautiful chaos and wild creativity of his mind

BIAL
Super Structures - National Geographic
Director | Creative Head | Content Strategist
Ankit came on board when the site was still barren land and Terminal 2 was only on paper. From shaping the initial narrative to planning long duration timelapses, identifying precise camera positions that would stay clear as the terminal rose, shaping the long term narrative and capturing the project's vision through interviews. Ankit helped lay the creative and structural foundation of the film. He led the project until midway, up to the point when the COVID-19 pandemic interrupted aviation and film production.
OMG YEH MERA INDIA
History Tv18 (Multiple Seasons)
Director
Ankit Arora has directed over 50 stories for OMG! Yeh Mera India (HistoryTV18), a show that celebrates extraordinary people doing remarkable things at the grassroots level across the country.
Each story, though just 5 to 7 minutes long, demands a unique narrative approach. From the snow covered terrains of Ladakh to the southernmost corners of India, told seamlessly across languages, every shoot presents a new challenge. Working with everyday individuals who have often never faced a camera, Ankit's strength as a director lies in making them feel at ease, drawing out authentic and confident voices in a short window of time. Every story requires a fresh way to engage the viewer — a craft Ankit has honed with empathy, instinct, and precision.

GOVERNMENT FILMS
Multiple Platforms

Director
Ankit Arora has directed films for the central government and various state governments.
Each project demanded precise communication tailored to its objective, while still being heartfelt and true to the region it represented. Working closely with government officials, police personnel, and local communities, Ankit brought out the human side of each narrative. He captured the natural essence of each location in its best light, all while staying aligned with official directives and regional sensitivities.
OTHERS
